What this website collects, why, and who sees it. Short version: only what we need to answer you, and we never sell it.
Who we are
Piknik by Chef Christophe is a French bakery and sandwich shop at 9091 N Military Trl #13, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. This policy covers this website. Questions about it go to the shop: 561-360-2997.
What we collect
When you ask about catering: your name, phone number, email, the date, the number of guests, the occasion and anything you write in the notes.
When you chat with Pik: the questions you type.
Automatically: the technical details every website receives, such as your IP address and browser type, used to deliver the pages and keep the site secure.
How we use it
To answer your catering request and plan your event, to answer your questions, and to keep the site working and protected from abuse. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Pik, our chat helper
Pik's answers are written by an AI service from Anthropic, so the questions you type are sent to Anthropic to produce the reply. We do not keep a copy of your conversation.
To stop the chat being misused, we count how many questions come from each IP address per day. That count deletes itself within two days. Please do not type sensitive personal information into the chat. Pik cannot take orders or payments.
Ordering and delivery
Online orders for pickup are handled by Square, and delivery by DoorDash and Uber Eats. When you order through them you are on their service and their privacy policies apply. We never see or store your card details.
Cookies and similar
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may save one small display setting for this site, which contains nothing about you. Our fonts are served by Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to load them.
We do not currently use website analytics. If we add them, we will update this page first.
Who we share it with
Only the services that help us run the site and reply to you: our web host (Cloudflare), our AI provider for the chat (Anthropic), and the email and messaging services that deliver your catering request to us. We will also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Catering requests are kept for as long as we need them to plan and follow up on your event, and for our normal business records.
Your choices
You can ask what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 561-360-2997 or ask at the counter.
Children
This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date below.
